What is NEET UG Counselling?
NEET UG counselling is the seat allotment process for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and other medical courses in India. It is conducted by two bodies: the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, and individual State Counselling Authorities for 85% state quota seats.
MCC Counselling Rounds 2025
MCC conducts counselling in four rounds:
- Round 1: Candidates register, fill choices and get provisional allotment. Reporting is mandatory.
- Round 2: Upgrade or fresh allotment for remaining vacant seats.
- Round 3 (Mop-Up): Only for seats remaining after Rounds 1 and 2. Candidates not allotted previously can participate.
- Stray Vacancy Round: Final round to fill last remaining seats — conducted at the college level.

Keep these documents ready before reporting to your allotted college:
- NEET UG 2025 Admit Card and Score Card
- Class 10 and 12 Mark Sheets and Certificates
- Provisional Allotment Letter from MCC
- Category Certificate (OBC/SC/ST/EWS) — if applicable
- PWD Certificate — if applicable
- Domicile / Nativity Certificate
- Aadhar Card (original + photocopy)
- Passport-size photographs (10–15 copies)
- Anti-Ragging Undertaking (signed by student and parent)
Category-wise Cutoffs (Expected 2025)
Based on previous year trends, expected cutoffs for NEET UG 2025 are:
- General / UR: 720 – 138
- OBC / SC / ST: 137 – 107
- General-PH: 137 – 122
- OBC/SC/ST-PH: 121 – 107
How to Register on MCC Portal
Visit mcc.nic.in and complete these steps:
- Click on "UG Medical Counselling" and register with your NEET roll number and date of birth.
- Pay the registration fee (₹1,000 for General; ₹500 for SC/ST/OBC/PWD).
- Fill in choice locking — select colleges in order of your preference.
- Lock choices before the deadline. Locked choices cannot be changed.
- Check seat allotment result and report to allotted college within the stipulated date.
State Quota Counselling
State quota counselling is conducted separately by each state. Candidates must register on their respective state counselling portals. Domicile/nativity certificate is usually mandatory for state quota seats. Check your state medical education board website for exact schedules and fee payment details.
