Clearing NEET UG is only half the battle. The counselling process determines which college you actually attend. NEET UG 2026 counselling has two parallel streams: All India Quota (AIQ) managed by MCC, and State Quota managed by individual state authorities.

MCC Counselling Rounds — NEET UG 2026 Schedule

Step-by-Step MCC Counselling Process

  1. Register on mcc.nic.in — Pay registration fee (₹1,000 for SC/ST, ₹5,000 for others)
  2. Pay Security Deposit — ₹10,000 (SC/ST) or ₹50,000 (General/OBC). Refundable if you join the allotted college or withdraw before deadline.
  3. Choice Filling — Fill college and course preferences in order of priority (you can fill unlimited choices). Tip: fill as many as possible!
  4. Lock Choices — Confirm your filled choices before the deadline. Changes are not possible after locking.
  5. Seat Allotment — Based on NEET rank, category, and your choices, MCC allots a seat.
  6. Report to College — Within the reporting deadline, physically visit the allotted college with original documents and pay the first-year fee.
